Upon termination of employment, access to the email account is disabled, although the account and its contents remain on the system for one year. If the client sets up an email forward prior to termination, it will remain in effect during this one year period. After the termination date, Information Technology must update the email forward, but the one year period from termination still applies. The requirements are reviewed by Human Resources. If they do this before their account terminates, there will be no lapse in access to the user.
