Katchoo presents David with a wedding band, but David confesses that before coming to Vegas he slept with Katchoo's half-sister Tambi in Japan in an attempt to get Tambi pregnant. Later still, Katchoo realises that she prefers women to men, and gets a tattoo on her lower back. Katchoo and David meet up one last time, and decide that, while they love each other, there's too much bagage in their relationship to continue. Katchoo goes back to her studio in Houston, while David heads for New York. Meanwhile, Brad announces to an ecstatic Francine that he has a job offer in Houston, but then he blows up when he sees that Francine has gotten a rose tattoo on her breast.
Later, Rusty has a near encounter with her unseen stalker in the women's restroom. Katchoo and David wake up naked in bed together in a Las Vegas hotel room, with a marriage license nearby.

An incredible body of work. But definitely a work of two parts. Initially the book was all about relationships. It was funny and touching, heartwarming and made you desperately care about these characters.
These two women formed the emotional core of the book and gave it it's heart. Francine loves Katchoo as the best friend in her life, but Katchoo is deeply, passionately in love with Francine. In addition to this, two other major characters further complicate the love triangle a four pointed triangle? Of course, even this complicated love story is further complicated by Francine's intense feelings for Katchoo that are always threatening to turn a friendship into the love affair that Katchoo wants more than anything.
And then there's Katchoo's own mixed feelings for David. Complicated indeed. But such was the quality of the writing and the art from Terry Moore that you desperately wanted to know these characters and month after month an ever growing band of us would sit there and lovingly devour each issue.
