Brave Litton Quest II seems like the easiest method. As for mining rocks placed in the hometown, do I need a specific colour rock? I've mined a lot out of my black rocks and I haven't found a Gold Ore. Purple rocks is what I always get them from. And if you talk to the miners sometimes they give you gold, or other ores.
